In the School of Innovation, our commitment to faith, wisdom and a learning community that provides challenging and enriching experiences that connect to practical and real life, allows our students to flourish. Within our core teaching teams we use a holistic approach, where students are encouraged to be active contributors to their learning, working effectively with Learning Mentors and peers, supported by Catholic values that guide students toward achieving academic success. 

In Years 7-9 we have committed Learning Mentors and Specialists who engage up to 80 students in each year group in open and dynamic learning spaces. Within these spaces the Learning Mentors and students share the responsibility of learning through explicit teaching, inquiry and developing learning assets of collaboration, communication, thinking, researching and self-management. 

As we engage in the main areas of curriculum learning - English, Math, Science, Religious Education and Physical Education - the interconnectedness of our teaching and learning allows students to be challenged to develop a capacity for self-reflection throughout every Victorian curriculum area. Learning Mentors use a range of creative pedagogical approaches to develop 21st century skills that will help students in their lives beyond St Anne’s College. We encourage students to take risks and know that, at times, the end product isn’t what they might have envisioned, but the challenges they faced on the learning journey are just as important as that end product. It is about the process of learning within the School of Innovation.
